Amazon Titles: Max 75 Chars from July 27

New Amazon Product Title Rules (Effective July 27, 2026)

Core Changes: Except for media categories such as books and audio-visual products, the titles of all product categories (including spaces) are mandatorily limited to no more than 75 characters, a significant reduction from the previous 200 characters.

Key Detailed Rules

  • Effective Time:Enforcement will take effect on July 27, 2026. Existing listings will be granted a transition period, and advance rectification is recommended.

  • New field——Item Highlights(Product Highlights):Provide up to 125 additional characters (phrases separated by commas), displayed below search result titles and on detail pages. The content can be indexed for search, used to supplement omitted information such as materials, scenarios, and compatible device models.

  • Processing Ultra-Long Titles:Titles that remain non-compliant after July 27 will be gradually replaced with AI-generated versions by the system. Sellers with registered brands will be given a 14-day review window (Review Listings Changes) to edit or reject the changes; the replacements will take effect immediately for sellers without brand registrations.

  • Specification for Title Content:Prohibited promotional phrases (such as free shipping)、No special symbols (! $ ? {} etc.) are allowed、The same word shall not be repeated more than twice (excluding prepositions and articles)、No subjective evaluative words (such as BEST SELLER) are allowed.


Suggestions for Writing Titles and Highlight Points

  • Title Formula (≤75 characters):Brand + Core Product Term + Key Differentiating Attributes (Size/Color/Capacity)  Example: Anker 737 Power Bank, 24,000mAh, 140W (43 characters)

  • Item Highlights(≤125字符):List materials, compatible devices, usage scenarios, etc., such as USB-C PD, PPS support, for MacBook/iPhone, compact design, cable not included

  • Keyword Migration:Overflow long-tail keywords → Item Highlights → Five-point Descriptions → Backend Search Terms → A+ Content Pages


Seller Action List

1. Export all store ASINs, filter out titles with more than 75 characters, and prioritize rectifying flagship products.

2. Rewrite the title according to the new formula and move secondary information to Item Highlights.

3. Brand sellers shall check the AI recommendations under the "Review Listings Changes" section in the backend.

4. Create new products directly in accordance with the new regulations and avoid keyword stuffing.
