Countdown to Amazon EU EPR Rules! Mandatory from April 1, How Sellers Respond?

Less than half a month remains until the mandatory enforcement of Amazon’s new EU EPR regulations on April 1, 2026. If you have not yet completed compliance procedures, please take action as soon as possible—this directly affects your store operation and selling privileges.

What is EPR?
EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) is an EU environmental policy that requires producers to be responsible for a product’s entire lifecycle, especially its recovery, recycling, and disposal after use.
Starting April 1, 2026, Amazon will mandatorily collect and verify sellers’ EPR registration numbers in compliance with laws in Germany, France, and other European countries. Sellers without valid registration numbers will have their product listings forcibly removed in relevant countries/regions.

Which Sellers Are Affected?
Anyone selling products in Germany and/or France who meets any of the following criteria is considered a “producer” and must fulfill EPR obligations:

Manufactures and sells EPR-compliant products in the country
Imports EPR-compliant products into the country
Sells EPR-compliant products in the country without being incorporated there
